ADVANCED COMPOSITION FICTION UNIT
This unit will involve reading, studying, and writing short stories in a three week period. Mini-lessons will be presented on the subjects of writing leads and closing lines, characterization, and plot development. Becoming proficient at using figurative language will be a primary focus. Along with several individual assignments, the class will write a story collectively.

How do we communicate?

What kind of writing is the most important?

Content Questions:
What kind of writing is your best kind?
What is figurative language?
What constitutes a writing style?
What are the elements of a short story?
